Feature Team Members

Thomas Romano is an Analyst in the Global Indicators Group's Front Office. He joined the department in April 2023. In his current role, he provides research support to the Director, as well as the Business Ready (B-READY), Enterprise Survey, and Women, Business and the Law projects. He first joined the World Bank working on the Utility Services topic of B-READY. Prior to this, Thomas worked for the Directorate General for Competition at the European Commission and as a research assistant on a project about the functions and mandates of Central Banks at the University of Essex. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics with Mathematics from the University of Essex and dual master’s degrees in International Policy Analysis, jointly offered by Bocconi University and the London School of Economics. Thomas speaks Italian, French, and is conversant in Spanish.
