Klaus Koch-Saldarriaga is a Senior Private Sector Development Specialist within the Development Economics Vice-presidency, Global Indicators Group. He is responsible for overseeing the dialogue with stakeholders, including governments, communications and expert engagement working teams. As well as supervising the topic teams focused on international trade and labor. He has successfully coordinated the public consultation process for the B-Ready Concept Note and led the B-Ready branding initiative. Previously, Klaus worked in the Doing Business project where he led the Resolving Insolvency indicators and the Citizen Engagement in Rulemaking project. Before joining the World Bank Group, he served as a diplomat-counselor at the Embassy of Colombia in the United States, where he played a pivotal role in the approval of the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement and the bilateral Action Plan on Labor Rights. His extensive experience also includes positions at the Business Association of Colombia (ANDI) and legal firms Heuking Kühn in Germany and DG&A in Colombia. Klaus holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from UC Berkeley, completed a negotiation program at Harvard University, and earned his law degree from Javeriana University in Colombia, graduating with honors. He is fluent in both Spanish and German.
