Remove a Member from the Medical Benefits Plan

Summary

A covered family member should be removed from the Active Medical Benefits Plan (AMBP) for the following reasons:

  • Child attaining the age of 26
  • Voluntary reduction in coverage by the staff member
  • Divorce
  • Death
  • Dissolution of Domestic Partnership

Attention:

Once removed, the eligible family member can be enrolled later by going through open enrollment held in November for coverage to start from January, the following year, provided they are still eligible for coverage.

Attention:

Retirees and active staff in AMBP pay only the ‘Staff Share’ of the premium. Those enrolled in the Continuation Medical Benefits Plan (CMBP) pay the ‘Full Cost’ of the premium.

If this is due to a life event, report the life event via myHR Self-Service (available only on World Bank's intranet) under Insurance > Reduce or Waive MBP/ MIP.
