Anticorruption Lab

The World Bank’s anticorruption program is supporting innovations that take advantage of the growing availability of data to develop a stronger evidence base for anticorruption reform. This includes initiatives to deepen our understanding of corruption risks, advance the use of technology to reduce corruption in public expenditures and service delivery, and promote accountability through data platforms and analytics. Working with academic and development partners is at the heart of these efforts, to help scale up innovations and impact at the global level and through our country programming.

The World Bank developed the Governance Risk Assessment System (GRAS), a tool that uses advanced data analytics to improve the detection of risks of fraud, corruption, and collusion in government contracting. GRAS increases the efficiency and effectiveness of audits and investigations by identifying a wide range of risk patterns.
