In February 2023, the Tokyo Development Learning Center brought over 30 participants to Kyoto City for the Technical Deep Dive on Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) for Climate Resilience. This knowledge exchange was delivered with the collaboration of the Kyoto City Greenery Association and was featured in the 2023 summer edition of the Kyoto Greenery Publication. As many regions in Japan are experiencing increasing rainfall from climate change, rain gardens have been widely adopted as a climate adaptation solution for excess rainwater. Through the knowledge exchange, the TDD participants visited a variety of traditional and modern rain gardens that Kyoto City has to offer.
