The Government & Institutions Umbrella Program brings together partners committed to achieving better governance outcomes. The Program was launched in 2022 with the generous support of the Federal Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Austria, Chandler Foundation, the Hewlett Foundation, and the MacArthur Foundation. Since then, the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the European Union, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) have also joined the program. These valued partners help to fund, collaborate, and share knowledge, resources, and ideas to address common governance challenges.
The Program relies on the generous support of donors to collaborate and share knowledge, resources, and ideas to address common governance challenges. The Program's Secretariat is housed within the Governance Global Practice at the World Bank. The donors, together with the World Bank, form the Partnership Council which meets on a regular basis. Other partners include civil society organizations, private sector, and academia.
