The Governance and Institutions (G&I) Umbrella Program is a multi-donor trust fund established in 2022 with the generous support of the Chandler Foundation, the European Union, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Korea, the Hewlett Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), and the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
The Program relies on the generous support of donors to collaborate and share knowledge, resources, and ideas to address common governance challenges. The Program's Secretariat is housed within the Governance Global Practice at the World Bank. The donors, together with the World Bank, form the Partnership Council which meets on a regular basis. Other partners include civil society organizations, private sector, and academia.
