The Coalitions for Reforms (C4R) offers a platform for networking, collaboration, exchange of knowledge, and the possibility of joint initiatives with like-minded stakeholders. One way of doing so is through learning events. All upcoming and past events can be found on this page.

  • Supporting Leadership for Women Mayors and in Local Governance
    November 19, 2024

    C4R, supported by the World Bank’s Governance & Institutions Umbrella Program, organized an event—“Supporting Leadership for Women Mayors and in Local Governance”. Learning objectives included the key factors to be considered in designing women’s leadership in local governance programs. Mayor of Despeñaderos in Córdoba, Argentina, Carolina Basualdo spoke about the work of a non-profit association, RIL (Red Innovacion Local) in  strengthening the leadership capabilites of 30 women mayors in Argentina, where less than 19% of local governments are led by women.

    This event delved into the concepts and tools necessary for building coalitions aimed at systems change. It included discussions on the theory behind systems thinking in the context of scaling up, supplemented by a practical case study using system diagnostic tools.

  • Policy and Institutional Reform for Sustainable Development

    The World Bank’s Coalitions for Reforms (C4R) team, in collaboration with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), and supported by the World Bank’s Governance & Institutions Umbrella Program, organized an event focusing on “Policy and Institutional Reform for Sustainable Development.” This event introduced the "PIR Methods Menu" platform, designed to aid development evaluators and practitioners in selecting appropriate evidence approaches for reform programs.
