On December 12, 2023, the World Bank and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic hosted a stakeholder meeting in Bishkek to discuss the findings of a new report, Air Quality Analysis for Bishkek: PM2.5 Source Apportionment and Emissions Reduction Measures. Through this research and knowledge sharing with international experts, the country is making progress on reducing air pollution, including through a $50 million project signed at the event.
