Uncovering Patterns of Corruption in Public Procurement

This summer nine inspiring researchers from around the world tackled two real world projects to create data science solutions for a better world. Due to COVID-19, the full-time three month placement is took place remotely as the Data Science for Social Good Summer Projects Programme, an adaptation of the Data Science for Social Good Summer Fellowship. DSSGx UK ran from 15th June – 5th September. It is an affiliate programme of the DSSG Foundation’s core summer fellowship in the US at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), USA. It was led by Turing, in partnership with the University of Warwick. The Summer Projects Closing Ceremony celebrates the exceptional work of this year's cohort, and features insightful, short presentations on the challenges provided by the non-profit partners, Ofsted and the World Bank. Researchers partnered with the World Bank to uncover patterns of corruption in public procurement and public administration.
