During the 2nd TDD on IUFRM in Tokyo and Kobe from the 22nd to 26th April 2019, participants visited Matsubara Minami Retention Basin and Hanazono Multipurpose Detention Basin to learn about Japan's Comprehensive Flood Control Measures. Thanks to these facilities, Osaka Prefecture was able to store approx. 2,089,000 m3 of water to mitigate inundation damage during the Heavy Rain Event of July 2018.
