Their names are Christiane, Noëlle, Béatrice, Haova, Fatimatou, and Caroline and they are farmers, mango processors, gardeners, exporters, and entrepreneurs. In a series of portraits published throughout the week, these courageous female beneficiaries opened up to the World Bank to tell their stories about how they are overcoming gender biases and rising from poverty.
