ABIDJAN, March 19, 2018 - The World Bank’s Vice President for the Africa Region, Mr. Makhtar Diop, will visit Côte d’Ivoire from March 20 to 23, 2018. During his visit, Mr. Diop will meet with Ivorian President Mr. Alassane Ouattara and Prime Minister Mr. Amadou Gon Coulibaly.
Mr. Diop will also visit the Félix Houphouët Boigny National Polytechnic Institute (INPHB) in Yamoussoukro to support the INPHB in boosting its status as a leading international institution and allowing young Africans to pursue advanced studies and be competitive on the job market.
Mr. Diop will also attend the women’s national football championship in Abidjan where he will launch the “Sports for Development” initiative, as the World Bank has undertaken to integrate sports, an instrument of social inclusion, into a number of its programs, particularly in Côte d’Ivoire.
