The World Bank announced today that it intends to prepay its outstanding 99-year Canadian dollar floaters (floating rate notes of 1984 and 1985, due December 1, 2083) on January 1, 1990. The total amount to be prepaid at the price of par is Can$200 million (about US$171 million).
The Bank previously has exercised prepayment rights with respect to borrowings denominated in Japanese yen, Swiss francs, Deutsche mark, Luxembourg francs, Austrian schilling, Belgian francs and Kuwaiti dinars.
