Transforming food systems from farm to table

Poverty, disease, and climate change are overlapping challenges. Changing the way food is produced and consumed can help address the problem. FoodSystems 2030 (FS2030) seeks to build global consensus on transforming food systems by 2030, fostering healthy people, a healthy planet, and healthy economies. Since 2021, this umbrella program has engaged 57 countries in a total of 13 global policy dialogues with the Government of the United Kingdom. At COP26, FS2030 helped facilitate the Global Agriculture Policy Dialogue and the Policy Action Agenda, which 17 countries endorsed. FS2030 has also been instrumental in helping countries operationalize the COP28 UAE Declaration on Sustainable Agriculture, Resilient Food Systems, and Climate Action.

FS2030 is engaged in 56 countries, supporting policymakers on a range of reforms, including issues around agricultural support. For example, it works alongside World Bank Group projects in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, and Tanzania, providing recipient-executed grants to repurpose fertilizer support programs. FS2030 has also supported agriculture sector diagnostics in 36 countries, including 14 in Africa.
