Lalita Moorty is currently the Regional Director for East Asia and Pacific in the Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions (EFI) Practice Group of the World Bank. Prior to this, she was the Regional Director for EFI in Europe and Central Asia. In her previous roles, she has been the Practice Manager for the European Union/Turkey and Manager in-charge for raising Funds for IDA. Ms. Moorty joined the World Bank in the year 2000 and has worked in several regions – including East Asia and Pacific, Europe and Central Asia, South Asia and Southern Africa. She holds a Doctorate in Economics, with a thesis on Risks and Costs associated with Real-time and Net Payments Systems in the United States.
JaeHoon Yoo is the Chairman and President of the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC). Prior to current position, he spent 30 years of his career in the Korean Government including working as a spokesperson for the Financial Services Commission and a Director General of Treasury Bureau at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance. He also worked in various international financial organisations including the World Bank Group, Asian Development Bank and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and served as Chairman and CEO of the Korea Securities Depository. He has a BA in economics and an MA in public administration from Seoul National University. He also obtained MA (DEA) in international economics at Sciences Po de Paris and graduated from the École Nationale d'Administration (ENA) in France. He holds a PhD in economics from Kyonggi University in Korea.
Rodolfo Wehrhahn is the co-founder of Wehrhahn & Wehrhahn Consulting LLC, a firm based in Florida USA consulting in the financial sector: insurance, reinsurance, pensions, banking and securities. The consultant work covered the areas of companies’ evaluations, resolution schemes, reinsurance programs designs, disaster risk financing, compliance with the IAIS principles, risk-based supervision, macroprudential supervision, financial stability assessments including stress testing, and the development of early warning systems for insurance and pensions. He has work for the IMF and the World Bank, as staff and as a consultant to the ADB, GIZ, A2ii, Toronto Center, EIOPA and several national supervisors. He has been working in several countries in Asia like Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, as well as in Europe, including The Netherlands, The U.K., Switzerland as well as in Latin America and Africa.
Adi Budiarso has held various executive positions managing cross functional initiatives at Indonesia Ministry of Finance (MoF) since 2014. Most recently, he was appointed Head of the Center for Financial Sector Policy since August 2020 after previously serving as Head of the Center for Climate Change and Multilateral Policy. Prior to joining Fiscal Policy Agency, Dr. Adi served as Head of the Finance Profession Regulator Agency from January 2019 until July 2019 and Human Capital Advisor to the Secretary General of MoF from November 2018 until January 2019. He also had been the Working Secretary of Indonesia Planning Team for 2018 International Monetary Fund-World Bank Group (IMF-WBG) Annual Meetings in Bali. From September 2014 until November 2018, Dr. Adi served as Chief of Organisational Transformation Officer at the Central Transformation Office where he delivered the Human Capital and Digital Transformation initiatives in line with the aspiration to develop a world class MoF in the 21st Century.
Olzhas Ashkeyev has been working since 2022 as Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Insurance Payments Guarantee Fund. He graduated from the Master's program of the National Bank of Kazakhstan under the MBA program in 2016. He worked at the National Bank of Kazakhstan from 2016 to 2020. From 2020 to 2022, he worked at Jusan Garant Insurance Company.
Youngwoon Kim is the Chair of Information Sharing Working Group in the International Forum of Insurance Guarantee Schemes (IFIGS) and the Head of Bilateral Cooperation Team in the Office of International Cooperation at the KDIC. At the KDIC, he is in charge of KDIC’s bilateral engagements with foreign organizations, particularly in relation to deposit insurance schemes and insurance guarantee schemes. Prior to this, he was in charge of conceptualizing and developing the overall resolution strategies for insolvent financial institutions, which include banks, insurers and savings banks. He joined the KDIC in 2001 and has held several positions within the KDIC. His career includes Senior Risk Analyst and Bank Examiner in the Savings Bank Department, Investigation Specialist at the Property Investigation Department and M&A Planning Coordinator at the Resolution Department. He earned a B.A. degree in Economics from the Seoul National University, and earned a M.S. degree in Engineering from Seoul National University of Science and Technology.
Niraj Verma is the Practice Manager of the Long-Term Finance unit in the World Bank. The Long-Term Finance unit deals with facilitation and mobilization of financial markets to support finance real economy sectors, including housing, infrastructure finance and bond and capital market development. Cross cutting themes include a focus on climate finance and private capital facilitation, through financial instruments and structuring and also policy, analytical and technical support to clients.
Fiona Elizabeth Stewart, Lead Financial Sector Specialist, joined the Long-term Finance Team in the World Bank's Finance, Competitiveness & Innovation Global Practice in 2012. Fiona provides policy advice on pension and insurance market reform to governments and regulators around the world. She also helps coordinate the Bank’s work on sustainable finance, including representing the institution at the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group, Co-Chairing the Finance Taskforce under the UN Decade on Restoration. She is currently acting as Secretary to the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Change. From 2004, Fiona worked for the OECD’s Financial Affairs Division and led the Secretariat of the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors (IOPS). Prior to the OECD, Fiona worked in the pension fund industry, including as Head of American Express Asset Management in Japan. She served on the advisory board of one the OECD’s pension funds and represents the World Bank staff on the organization’s Pension Fund Committee. She holds degrees from Oxford and Johns Hopkins Universities and a Chartered Financial Analyst qualification.
