World Bank Water at COP28: Harmonizing Water and Climate | Unleashing Systemic Solutions for Sustainable Futures

December 8, 2023
Dubai, UAE and Online

This session is one of a series jointly organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), UNESCO-IHP, and the 2030 Water Resources Group Multi-Donor Trust Fund managed by the World Bank Water Global Practice.

As climate change intensifies, it exacerbates water scarcity, disaster risk, and the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events like floods and droughts. This thematic day, "Scaling Up: Systems Approaches for Climate and Water Management," explores and promotes innovative, integrated solutions for a resilient future.

The closing session will recap the transformative potential of circular economy principles in addressing the interlinked challenges of water management and climate resilience. With reflections from high-level speakers, the session will delve into the bottlenecks around circular economy approaches in water and explore other adaptive strategies that combine scientific knowledge, community resilience, and policy frameworks to increase adaptive capacity and decrease vulnerability to extreme weather events.
