As many of the world’s cities are slowly recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, people are rediscovering the value of cleaner skies, improved air quality, green public spaces, and urban infrastructure that supports and encourages health for citizens. Our state of health is personal, but it also reflects the environment in which we live. Understanding how cities shape our wellbeing is at the heart of today’s discussion on Healthy Cities.

We explored the theme of integrating urban life with nature as a means for developing healthier cities.

This session examined the role of air pollution in shaping the competitiveness of cities, as well as measures to cool cities that will lead to many benefits, including health, well-being, and productivity.
