Multisectoral P4Rs: Accelerating Service Delivery — Lessons for ECA

March 14, 2019

Online

  • RECORDINGPRESENTATION

During this session, World Bank staff working in the ECA region shared experiences on how to leverage PforR operations to improve service delivery. The speakers presented examples of multisectoral PforR operations in Brazil and Mozambique where governance reforms are at the core of the engagement. The session focused on examples of how to combine different instruments and tools to strengthen performance in public institutions and accelerate the delivery of services to citizens. The use of these instruments; SWAP and more recently PforR, has enhanced the quality of the projects, yielded effective results and enabled teams to manage implementation risks more strategically.

Participants learned the do's and don'ts of multisectoral PforR operations that have governance reforms at the core, how to build strong projects focused on improving service delivery through public sector interventions, and how the design of these interventions can lead to better results and minimize risks.
