Samuel Kofi Tetteh Baah is an Economist with the Global Poverty and Inequality Data (GPID) team in the Development Data Group of the World Bank. He has been conducting research to improve the quality of global poverty estimates by incorporating new data and methodologies for poverty measurement. In particular, he has been actively involved in the technical work underpinning the new international poverty line. He collaborates with members of the GPID team to update the World Bank’s global and regional poverty numbers twice a year. He contributes to the publication of the Poverty and Shared Prosperity Report (PSPR), which is a biennial flagship report of the World Bank.

Samuel holds a Ph.D. in development economics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zürich, Switzerland. He holds a master’s degree in development economics from the University of Göttingen in Germany and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Ghana.
