Matthias Mayr is the World Bank Senior Operations Officer for Somalia and the Program Manager of the Somalia Multi-Partner Fund. Mayr, who is based in Nairobi, supports the delivery of the Somalia program, including lending, analytics, portfolio quality assurance and implementation, and the formulation of country strategic products. He has more than 10 years’ experience in development practice. He joined the World Bank in 2012 and has worked across the Bank including with the Governance Global Practice and the FCV Group. His areas of technical expertise are public sector and governance reform, urban development, and development strategy. A German national, he trained as a public administration scientist and urban specialist at the University of Konstanz and Rutgers University.
