Since March 2022, Joelle Dehasse is the Operations Manager for Central America and the Dominican Republic, based in Panama, which hosts a growing sub-regional office for the Central America and Dominican Republic department. In this role she is responsible for supporting a portfolio of 50 projects representing commitments of nearly $6 billion, in close coordination with the Country Director and the full leadership team for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Ms. Dehasse is also the Country Manager for Panama, with responsibility for managing the country dialogue, the portfolio and the resident mission.
A US and Belgian national, Ms. Dehasse joined the World Bank in 1995 and has a wealth of experience managing teams and supporting country engagements and Bank operations in the regions of Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East and North Africa, and Africa. Her recent positions include Country Program Coordinator for the Maghreb, MNA Region; Country Manager for Togo and Country Manager for Niger in the Africa West and Central Region.
