Janina Franco is a Senior Energy Specialist at the World Bank with experience the Europe and Central Asia and Latin America and Caribbean regions, where she is the focal point for energy projects in Chile, Ecuador, and Peru. She leads the preparation and implementation of various World Bank loan and technical assistance projects to countries, including the Bank’s first loan on Green Hydrogen Facility for Chile, regulatory reforms, introduction of disruptive technologies for decarbonization of the economy, energy efficiency and sustainable heating issues, and rural electrification.
Before joining the World Bank, she worked at The Earth Institute as a Research Associate for the Millennium Cities Initiative. Janina has two master's degrees in International Affairs and Urban Planning from Columbia University, and has graduate courses in public-private partnerships and regulation of the electricity sector.
