H. Hakan Yavuz joined the World Bank in 2021 as a Senior Debt Specialist with over 18 years of experience in sovereign debt and risk management. Prior to joining the Bank, he was the Head of the Risk Management Unit in the Turkish Ministry of Treasury and Finance. He has practical knowledge and experience in financial risk management, liability management operations, medium-term debt management strategies, operational risk management and business continuity planning. Hakan holds an MSc Degree in Applied Economics and Finance from the University of California and has the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
