Edoardo Palombo is an Economist in the World Bank’s Prospects Group, where he conducts research, analysis, and forecasting on the global economy. As the team’s subject expert on financial market surveillance, he contributes to key publications, including the Global Monthly and Global Economic Prospects reports. His research spans macroeconomics, financial markets, international economics, monetary and fiscal policy, and quantitative methods.

Before joining the World Bank, Edoardo advised Deloitte’s leadership and clients on global economic outlooks, building forecasting models and proprietary datasets. He previously served as an Economic Consultant at Deloitte, leading projects in fiscal forecasting, scenario analysis, and climate modeling, with contributions to reports like Deloitte’s COP26 Turning Point series.

Edoardo also held a Teaching Fellow role at Queen Mary University of London, where he taught undergraduate macroeconomics. He holds a PhD in Economics from Queen Mary University of London, and his research—cited by institutions such as the Bank of England and IMF—covers topics like Brexit, uncertainty, investment, climate change, and monetary and fiscal policy.
