Alan Asprilla, a Colombian national, is the World Bank Group Alternate Executive Director representing Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Philippines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago (EDS15).
Mr. Asprilla is an economist with a doctorate in economics from the University of Lausanne and a master’s degree from the University of Geneva, with research focusing on international trade, sustainable development, conflict and housing policy. Prior to joining the World Bank, he served as Deputy General Director for Investment, Monitoring and Evaluation at the National Planning Department in Colombia. He also served as Secretary General for the Ministry of Housing, and consultant for the International Labor Organization (ILO), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the International Growth Center (IGC).
