The Network on Jobs and Development is a partnership financed by the World Bank’s Development Grant Facility and sponsored by the World Bank’s Jobs Group.
It is a group of five research institutions from various regions of the world:
- Development Policy Research Unit at University of Cape Town (South Africa)
- HKUST Institute for Emerging Market Studies (Hong Kong)
- Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (India)
- Institute for Structural Research (IBS, Poland)
- Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA)
The goal of the network is to build a vibrant community by providing a comprehensive understanding of the jobs agenda. It has helped:
- Fill knowledge gaps with innovative, cross-sectoral and multi-disciplinary analyses
- Support relevant data collection, link researchers and institutions (particularly North-South linkages)
- Create fellowships and research grants
- Organize high-level dissemination activities
