Inclusive and resilient digital ecosystems enable individuals, communities, and governments to fully participate in the digital economy and access essential services. By leveraging technology for social good, World Bank initiatives promote digital inclusion, literacy, and equitable access to essential digital tools and services. A key priority is expanding digital education, skills development, and social services, ensuring that underserved populations—such as youth, women, the elderly, rural communities, and people with disabilities—can fully participate in the digital economy.

In collaboration with units across the World Bank and IFC, teams drive policy reforms and strengthen infrastructure in digital education, health, social protection, and public service delivery. They prioritize ethical governance, privacy-conscious systems, and interoperable digital public infrastructure to support secure and inclusive platforms. Special efforts focus on fragile, conflict-affected, and vulnerable (FCV) communities, ensuring that technology enhances crisis resilience and supports recovery in disaster-prone areas.

Through partnerships with governments, the private sector, civil society, and international organizations, policies and programs are shaped to drive equitable digital access and innovation. Research, financing mechanisms, and technical assistance help bridge the digital divide, ensuring that digital transformation contributes to economic opportunity, social well-being, and long-term resilience.
