Italy joins the TERI Umbrella Program!

We are delighted to announce that Italy has become the 7th Development Partner to financially support the TERI Umbrella Program. On June 1st, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, and the World Bank signed a funding agreement of EUR 1 million to support the TERI-financed Delivery Unit.

A New Project Development Fund for PPPs in Tunisia

Through the Compact with Africa multi-donor Trust Fund, the TERI Umbrella has been providing technical assistance to set up a Project Development Fund (PDF) for Public-Private Partnerships in Tunisia, which aims to improve the readiness of the public sector in dealing with PPP contracts through enhanced project governance, better monitoring, and a greater emphasis on capacity-building.

Strengthening the Social Protection System in Tunisia

Through the enhancement of the Social Protection System in Tunisia, the World Bank is supporting the Government of Tunisia to provide comprehensive assistance to its most vulnerable populations. This significant initiative aims to strengthen human capital, alleviate poverty, and improve resilience to economic shocks. By expanding the AMEN Social Program and integrating innovative digital solutions, this project is set to better serve over 30% of the Tunisian population through improved targeting, efficient resource allocation, and enhanced social services over the next decade.

About the TERI Umbrella Program
TERI is a Country Umbrella Program, administered by the World Bank, that supports projects and structural reforms which promote resilient and inclusive economic development in Tunisia. Launched in March 2021, the program is set to run until July 2029.
