To bridge the gender gap and expand electricity access, the Nigeria Electrification Project is equipping female students with hands-on training in solar photovoltaic installation and renewable energy solutions. It has also established 173 mini-grids and facilitated the sale of over 1 million Solar Home Systems, bringing electricity to 7.8 million Nigerians. The World Bank Group provided $350 million of the total financing of $550 million.
