The World Bank Group’s Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for São Tomé and Príncipe (STP) for the period 2024–2029 focuses on five areas that are key to unlocking resilient, inclusive, and sustainable growth in an island state that is home to 215,000 people. Engagements will aim to 1) Improve access to more affordable and greener electricity, to power daily activities, spur private sector growth, and facilitate service delivery; 2) Strengthen public financial management, to put the economy on a more stable footing; 3) Improve access to education and skills, to give young women and men a chance to realize their dreams through better jobs; 4) Strengthen road and digital connectivity, to facilitate trade, tourism and digital services that are critical for the island state to thrive; and 5) Increase the climate resilience of coastal communities, to protect them from harm and broaden their economic horizons.
