The South–West Roads Project is part of the Western Europe–Western China International Transit Corridor, a development project initiated by the Government of Kazakhstan with the support of the World Bank. Today, the new road with enhanced road management and traffic safety has improved transport efficiency between Aktobe, Kyzylorda and Shymkent. These efforts are already paying off through improved trade as well as health and welfare of the population.
