Disability Inclusion in Disaster Risk Management in the Caribbean Region

Around 1.3 million people live with some form of disability in the Caribbean. People with disabilities are often the most vulnerable and disadvantaged, making them more susceptible to the impacts of disasters, especially when their disabilities are compounded by poverty and marginalization. This is why the Canada-Caribbean Resilience Facility (CRF)'s recently finalized disability gap assessment is such an important achievement: it will inform the efforts of CRF’s nine target countries to build the necessary capacity for disaster preparedness and response. This video gives an overview of the CRF's progress in disability inclusion in the Caribbean.
