The ocean is central to the lives and livelihoods of the Marshallese people, but their marine environment is experiencing the effects of climate change, pollution and resource exploitation. The World Bank has been supporting the Marshall Islands Marine Resource Authority (MIMRA) to implement the Reimaanlok Conservation Framework through the Pacific Islands Regional Oceanscape Program (PROP), which promotes community led management of protected areas across the archipelago
