The World Bank and development partners are supporting Sudan’s Family Support Program, commonly known as Thamarat. The has been introduced to strengthen social protection and increase the spending power of families during this time of economic transition. Thamarat is financially supported by the World Bank and the Sudan Transition and Recovery Support (STARS) Multi Donor Trust Fund. The project is financed, in equal amounts, through International Development Association (IDA) pre-arrears grant and donor contributions through the Sudan Transition and Recovery Support Trust Fund (STARS).
