Although this crisis is forcing us apart as we try to slow the spread of the coronavirus, we are still finding ways to come together. To show our appreciation for those helping our communities, to keep in touch with families wherever they may be, and to help the poorest and most vulnerable. COVID-19 threatens to push at least 40 million vulnerable people into extreme poverty and that’s why the World Bank Group is coming together too with international partners to respond to this pandemic. We are providing up to $160 billion to help countries fight the virus and to recover quicker. Together we can achieve results that change lives.
