In Yemen, the Human Capital gap is widening. In 2019, the number of Yemenis in acute need increased by 27% compared to the year before. About 19.7 million people are now estimated to desperately require access to healthcare but nearly half of the country’s health facilities are not functioning. The World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA), UNICEF, and WHO have come together in the Emergency Health and Nutrition Project to try to protect Yemen's health and nutrition systems for the future.
