Indonesia has 232 dams, and some of them are more than 100 years old. Located along the Pacific ring of fire, the country is at the mercy of not only geological, but also hydro-meteorological disaster. This program – supported by the government of Japan – focuses on physical rehabilitation by a project that is spearheading the effort to restore the functions of the reservoirs so that the dam optimization program will yield concrete contribution in the form of economic impact and improvement of dam security.
