Like most of Northern Nigeria, Kaduna State grapples with endemic violence as well as high unemployment. In that context, it can be particularly hard for women to find jobs and make a living.Online freelancing platforms could help change the game by lifting many of the barriers that currently prevent Nigerian women from accessing more employment opportunities, such as isolation, instability, family obligations, etc.To harness the potential of online work, a recent workshop introduced hundreds of youth to the world of e-lancing, giving them practical tools to compete and thrive in the digital job market.Starting from June 2019, 180 women in Kaduna will receive a 6-month training to build their skills in coding, digital marketing, graphic design, and digital entrepreneurship.
