As the world's largest food producer and consumer, China has rightly made food safety a top priority. A World Bank-supported project has helped Jilin, a major agricultural province in the Northeast, make food safe for people, from farm to table. Quality and safety standards for agricultural products developed and lessons learned from the project can be scaled up nation-wide.
