The World Bank has helped Bangladesh power sector add about 2,000 MW electricity to its national grid, and another 475 MW will be added by October 2018. On his last trip to Bangladesh, Hartwig Schafer, World Bank Vice President of South Asia, visited the Ghorashal Power Plant, where he learned how upgrading an existing unit helped more than double electricity generation capacity.
