With World Bank support, over 30 large state-owned industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan – predominantly in the oil, gas, chemical and construction sectors – have introduced energy-efficient technologies and practices. By the end of 2017, these investments resulted in energy savings equivalent to 360 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of annual energy savings. This volume would be enough to satisfy the electricity needs of about 1 million people, or over 176,000 households per year.
