The China Sustainable Cities Integrated Approach Pilot Project, funded by a Global Environment Facility grant of $32.73 million, supports transit-oriented development (TOD) in China. The project assists seven major Chinese cities -- Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Ningbo, Nanchang, Guiyang, and Shenzhen -- to develop and implement strategies for TOD, an urban planning concept that integrates land use and transit. It also supports the Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development to create a national TOD platform to help guide cities and strengthen their ability to develop relevant guidelines and policies. Watch the video and listen to the representatives of the participating cities as they talk about what they hope to achieve through the project.
