Remoteness, poverty and scarcity of resources remain some of the main challenges facing access to basic education in Sudan. The Basic Education Recovery Project is the largest form of international support to Sudan's basic education sector across the country. The project is building the foundations to a functioning national education system, which will help some of the poorest communities send their children to school.
