Cote d’Ivoire is prioritizing its national coastal areas in an effort to mitigate the effects of climate change and coastal erosion. At a recent workshop held in the city of Grand-Lahou, more than 70 representatives from Cote d’Ivoire, West African countries, and development organizations, gathered to address comprehensive strategies for reducing the region’s vulnerability to the challenges of climate change. The workshop focussed on creating a coordinated, regional approach to the management of coastal areas in West Africa.
