The World Bank recently convened city leaders from around the world for its first ever "Urban Week" in Singapore. The event provided participants with an opportunity to discuss how to build more sustainable cities and to learn from Singapore's forward-thinking approach to urban development. In particular, the host city insisted on the importance of: securing a steady stream of financing; developing an integrated approach that looks at all the different aspects of urban planning in a cohesive way; and committing to a long-term vision.
