Before becoming president of the World Bank Group, Jim Yong Kim was instrumental in creating effective, low-cost tuberculosis treatment for the Peruvian poor through the organization he co-founded, Partners in Health. Now he’s back in the same neighborhood, on the eve of the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings in Lima, to catch up with some of the patients he helped years ago, and to remind us that health care is critical to ending poverty worldwide.
