The long civil war in Liberia kept many girls from attending school regularly. But through the Ministry of Gender & Development’s Economic Empowerment of Adolescent Girls & Young Women project, 3,500 young women have been trained in business development, employment and life skills so they can get jobs or start their own businesses to support themselves and their families.
