About half a million mineworkers in South Africa and about two million ex-mineworkers spread across four countries are at high risk of TB. To fight the epidemic, the governments of Lesotho, Mozambique, South Africa and Swaziland are working with the Stop TB Partnership and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to manage the risk and spread of the disease among workers and their families back home.
