The world loses or wastes one-quarter to one third of all food produced for human consumption, according to the World Bank’s quarterly ‘Food Price Watch,’ citing FAO and World Resources Institute estimates. Bank President Jim Yong Kim says the staggering loss impacts the global effort to end extreme poverty and outlines action to alleviate the problem.
