Timor-Leste’s cultural heritage and beautiful landscapes have the potential for tourism which would improve the livelihoods of local communities but a poor road network and limited attention to the country’s cultural heritage is a major constraint. The World Bank has identified potential tourist sites and supporting rehabilitation of a major road to provide better access.
